He's so sweet....when he's sleep :)

So yesterday I posted a picture of my youngest cherub, Mehki, wrapped up in a blanket asleep in the car (I wish I could actually post that picture here, but you can refer to my fb page, if you are curious) Quite a few people "liked" the pic & a couple people commented, "Oh, sooo cute!" But what you couldn't tell from this snapshot in time was that he had just finished having a 45 minute temper tantrum and that he was naked underneath the blanket!!! O yea, its true!!


Mehki had a series of quite a few unfortunate events that led to this moment....On Thursdays, we have soccer, so dinner is usually something quick. I went through the McDonalds drive thru for the boys. Here's where it started.....First of all, instead of the 4-piece McNuggets, they gave Mehki a cheeseburger. I thought this might be a problem because I really didnt have time to go back, but he was cool with it.  BUT THEN...he realized that they gave him a "girl toy"!!!  Why, why, why, did they give my baby the pink Sketchers shoe key chain instead of the Ben10 toy???  I guess since he had been so cool about the cheeseburger, that he just couldnt be cool with this too.  Sooooo the tantrum commenced.....the crying, the screaming, and kicking the back of the seat!! Welllllll, then his french fries fell on the floor of the car!! Oh Lawd Jesus, why, why, why did this have to happen?? Soooo now he adds slamming himself into the back of his car seat & is screaming, "OWWWW!!!"  Gee, ya think? 


By this time, we have gotten to the fields & Tyrez couldnt wait to get out of the car!! Mehki continues the tantrum...screaming, crying, kicking, head butting....I can tell that this is just going to have to run its course because he has gotten himself so worked up....I dont even address him, which of course makes him even more mad and starts screaming, "I want my mama!!" Yea, I dont get it either????


He is making such a racket that the dude sitting in the minivan next to me keeps looking over..oh well, I dont know him!! And Im really just trying to keep my cool..Im just munching my Jimmy Johns & sipping on my fountain Coke (refer to my previous posting).  Then he tries to get my attention by screaming, "I gotta pee!" So I told him that he could get out, cuz I know that this can be just one of his ploys, but of course, he doesnt. So, I get out, walk around, open his door, but he doesnt get out. So I get back in. And he begins screaming even louder (as if I thought that was even possible)!! So...about ten minutes later, he begins screaming, "My peepee hurts!" Guurrreeeaattt!!!!  (By the way, it is getting harder and harder to keep my cool, cuz my patience is wearing thin and I REALLY want him to quit screaming!!)


He finally decides to open the door and puts a leg out (oh, I forgot to mention that it is like 60 degrees outside and he is wearing shorts...sometimes you have to pick your battles) We are finally out of the car, and I notice that he actually has already peed on himself, but he says he still has to go, so we mosey over to the porta-potties (is that how you spell that?)....gotta love the smell that waifs through the air as you open the door!! So Mehki sheepishly goes in (I leave the door open and block the view) and THEN he ends up peeing on his shirt!! OMG!!!! Why, why, why!!????? Here he goes again...he doesnt even want to pull up underwear or shorts now cuz there is pee everywhere!! 


I remember that we have a blanket in the trunk....so, I put him in the front seat, put the blanket over him, he took his clothes off, and I wrapped the blanket around him.  Within five minutes, he is asleep.  By the way, it was only 6:15!! (and he slept the rest of the night!) 


But then, just as quick as it started, I have forgotten that he had just gotten on my last nerve!! I had forgot that he was screaming at the top of his lungs! Forgot that he was kicking the crap out of the seat! Forgot that he was head-butting against his car seat! Forgot all of this because my cherub looked so sweet and angelic asleep wrapped up in the blanket! 


Instead, I just captured the moment and remember how much I love him!! I remember that when he's asleep, I can still see my precious little baby with those chubby cheeks. I remember that he's so sweet...when hes sleep!!


I know that at some point, I will again have to endure one of his tantrums...and if I have any luck, Ill have a Jimmy Johns & a Coke to help me through it again, but until then we'll be just cruisin along! 

Yea, I know.....I have issues!!!

First of all, I need to apologize for canceling so many appointments..I have been busy and tired.

Ok, while I get comfy on the couch, you go ahead and get your legal pad...I have a lot of tell you!

 (I am irritated that I cant get pictures to load!! Another issue!!)

Issue #1: My name is Kris, & Im addicted to GasAmerica fountain pop, specifically Coca-Cola!!! Monday thru Friday, I usually have one by 7:00am because I stop on the way to work....some people would call that an issue! Im trying to remember when this issue started, but I cant really pin it down. I guess one morning, I needed an extra kick & that slow burn of the acidy bubbles got me hooked!! There is a GasAmerica right by my house, so it is pretty convenient...probably too convenient when this is an issue!! Yea, I have tried to reduce & I have tried to drink diet, but it just is not the same and doesnt have the same (mental) effect! I have even started calling it my "cranky medicine" and my kids will actually say, "Mom, maybe you need some of your cranky medicine"!! WOW, right!!!

Ok, hang on, I'll be right back...I gotta run down to the corner to get some "medicine"!!


Issue #2: I think I could eat Jimmy John's Subs everyday!! This is somewhat of a recent development due to a Jimmy John's (JJ) that has opened on the east side...again, very convenient!!! I have always liked Jimmy Johns over that other sub shop, but there just wasnt one available.  Im not sure what makes it so different for me...can you believe that I have actually exerted brain cells thinking about this...first of all their bread comes from France...really, they say it is French bread!! Or maybe its cuz they use REAL mayonaise?? I also like their thinly sliced cheese! Im mean, I dont even get vegetables on my sub, so its pretty basic! But know I have got my kids hooked too...I mean, its better than McDonalds, right?

Issue #3: At this point, the only type of vacation that I ever want to go on again is a cruise! I know that there are plenty of wonderful, amazing, beautiful things to see on land, but in my opinion, a cruise is the best VACATION ever!! To me, it is truly a vacation because you dont have to cook your own food, make your bed, or even really clean up after yourself.  On one of my cruises, the waiter even cut my meat for me!! I mean, really, where else am I going to get that kind of treatment!!?? I have been on a Royal Caribbean cruise (without kids) & 3 Disney Cruises (with kids!).  Plus there is SO much variety on the cruise....you can be as busy as you want! Plus, there is an area just for kids, an area that is so amazing that the kids would really prefer to be there ALL THE TIME!! Now that is a vacation!! But no really, I dont have to feel guilty about having some "ME" time because I know that they are having a blast!! And of course, I have got my kids addicted too!! My youngest son is 4 and has been on 3 cruises!! Our last cruise was Spring Break 2011 & our next scheduled Disney cruise is Fall Break 2012, but......I got a little curious the other night & started checking out the websites and running some numbers & we could go on a 4 day Royal Caribbean cruise THIS October for less than $1000!!! I want to book it sooooooo bad!! But airfare would be almost as much...probably close to $700 & I dont think Im brave enough to do a two day drive by myself!! So, we'll see...

What? You dont think that this is an issue? Weeellll, I kinda left the issue part out....the issue with this is that I get a bit obsessive...I read books about the Disney Cruise and peruse Disney Cruise websites to get tips and hints & the latest news & gossip. I also make list upon list about the things I need to pack, things I need to buy, things we need to see on the ship, etc....And Im typically packed like 3 months ahead..well, the clothes anyway.  For example, for our cruise last March, I started packing over Winter Break...I mean, we arent wearing the clothes, so I might as well.  And speaking of clothes, because it is a Disney cruise, all of the clothes have to be Disney (well, for the most part)...Disney T-shirts, Disney swim trucks, Disney PJs, matching Disney shirts that I had made for us....see, what I mean...it can be kinda an issue!!

So, if I did decide to go on the cruise in October, it is only 31 days away!! I would be frantically trying to pull it together & then I'll be coming to see you for another issue.

Issue #4: Im pretty sure that the UPS/Fed Ex dude doesnt have to use GPS, MapQuest, or Google maps to find my house...in the last 4-6 weeks I have done A LOT of online shopping!! Before you jump down my throat, let me tell you that everything/anything that I buy is on sale (i am by nature, a frugal person) & I will try to do anything possible to get free shipping!! And it is typically things that we need...more or less :)  Oh, and it is so much easier to buy things online instead of dragging the two cherubs around town!! So, in the last month, I have received boxes from the following businesses (I will try to remember them all...yes, there is that many)

1. New Balance (on sale, free shipping): Mehki has wide feet so New Balance shoes are great....especially for the wear & tear my cherub puts them through
2. Walmart (sale, free shipping): uniform pants for Tyrez.  In the store, they have every size except the one we need, no fail, so this is just easier!!
3. Disney store (sale, free shipping) Please refer to issue #3 above....the PJs were on sale for $8!!!  $8?? That is practically cheaper than you can get them at Walmart.  And trust me, there is nothing cuter than seeing my little cherub in some Mickey Mouse PJs!! Oh, and I got some shirts that were on sale that would fit next summer...hey, there were on sale!!
4. Old Navy (sale, free shipping) Jeans on sale for $10..need I say more??  Mehki's jeans get wore out so quickly at the knees, that I almost think they are not allowed to walk at daycare!! So, I got some extra pairs, while they were cheap.  And if you havent see Tyrez lately, the dude is getting bulked up (Refer to issue #2 above) and needs a bigger size of jeans!!
5. The Childrens Place: (sale, free shipping) I actually have ordered from them twice!! the first time was to order Tyrez a backpack...and you could get free shipping if you bought a denim item...so I did (they were on sale too!). The second time was to get Mehki some shirts for next summer that were on sale.
6. LTD: (sale) ordered some Christmas presents for a certain Bears fan in our life while they were on sale & in stock
7. HSN: (sale, free shipping) This is actually my first order from HSN & it was totally a selfish...a new perfume by my favorite female singer: Mary J. Blige. And I got a free purse size perfume!!
8. Amazon: (sale) Two DisneyWorld tour guide books (refer to issue #3 above).  I guess even though I do not feel like DisneyWorld will actually be a vacation, I think my kids would enjoy it & I would like to experience it with them. So because I have the issue, you know, I need to study up, get a plan, make some lists, etc!! And I dont even know when we are going...but it is never too early to get prepared :) 

So, see what I mean.....its amazing I have time to do anything else :)

Before I get started, I want to thank you for your time & support...you are very encouraging!! By the way, did you know that you can check to see how many views your blog has had??? I know, crazy right? I've had 32 views!! I think like 25 of them were me & then the other 7 were people from work that I kinda made read it!! According to my stats, it was even read by somebody in Germany!! WHAT??!! I didnt know that I knew someone in Germany!!  If you are that person in Germany, let me know who you are!!! Thats what I mean...kinda strange that "anyone" can read your blog!!

Anyway...I was so looking forward to my 2nd therapy session with you...I even had a title..
"I know... I have issues!" But its going to have to wait....look, Im more disappointed than you..trust me!

But, its finally happened....about 1/2 of the people that I work with have been sick, the kids at school & at home have been sneezin & snottin, & now I cant breathe through my nose & my eyelids are very heavy!!

So, I pulled out my old trusty friend, Mucinex, from the closet & downed a couple of those.  In addition, I dug out the Vicks VaboRub & slathered that on (sorry, if that was TMI, but really.... isnt all of this actually TMI?). And Im just hoping that they "do their thang" while Im sleeping!

But, I look forward to our next session....please believe me when I write that I need it more than you do!

But until then, I'll just be cruisin' (& snoozin) along!!

i think im thinking too hard!!!

ok, so I just need to go ahead and start typing! You would have no idea how long it has taken me to get to this point!!! This has been my journey.....

So Im on fb & I see that a fellow co-worker has a blog...Im kinda nosey, so I check it out...I mean, she put it on fb...isnt that what its there for? So Im looking at hers, and I see another that another co-worker has a blog, so I look at that one...when Im on hers, I see that another co-worker has a blog...and this goes on until I realize that there are at least like co-workers that have blogs (there may be more that I just didnt find yet! LOL)...then Im up way too late feeling like a voyeur on all of their lives!!! Since I had never really been on a "blog", I was really intrigued! I liked the chance to kinda "get to know them better" though their insightful or random posts and pictures.  I also kinda felt like it could be therapeutic...ya know, just a chance to kinda "let it out"...i mean, i dont have time to go to therapy...i would like to be able to go to therapy actually......just to have a chance to talk to another adult!!! I mean, I spend all day with kids (little time to converse with adults,), then I come home to kids (no other adult here to talk to & its too hectic to talk on the phone). By the time its quiet in my house, I just want it to be quiet..I dont feel like "talking" on the phone.....so Ill "talk" on the computer! LOL

(wow! I am rambling!!)  ok so anyway....so I finally take the time to get on the blogging website, then Im stuck...i mean, i want to come up with a creative title for my blog...something cute or humorous, but also fits my personality (dont really think I achieved that, but I had to move on!). Then you have to "design" your blog. And again, I want it to be cool, etc like my friends' blogs, but I dont really know how to do that & then are like waaayyy too many options! So I finally just decide to pick one & I decide I can work on adding & improving the design later! I really wanted to add some pics, but I cant figure it out????

And then I guess Im ready to write a post....omygoodness!! What do I write about for my first ever blog post!!??? THE PRESSURE!!! Laying in bed, i have thought of a bunch of dift things I could write about, but not for my FIRST entry!!! Its gotta be unique, i think to myself! It's gotta be funny, i also think to myself...I mean, its kinda scary cuz i dont really know who (if anyone) will read this! By the way, I assume that because this blog has its own http, that anyone could put that in & see my blog, right? (like anyone is reading this that close to answer that question!!)

Then, I realize...Kris, you are thinking about this waayy too hard!! Just type something already!!

So here it is....my first blog ever!! I know, i know....i have blown you away with my insight & humor, right?

Im looking forward to having a place to "let it out", share my insightfulness insight, any humorous stories, and pure randomness, but until then....Im just cruisin along!
